My husband and I lost our only child, a son at the age of 29, unexpectedly a few months ago due to sudden cardiac arrest. My grief so was paralyzing I looked for articles and books to help me try and get through it. This book has been extremely helpful. We were extremely close to our son and he had not married yet, so we were not left with grandchildren, so that a part of him would live on. We felt our life had shattered and we didn't know how to put the pieces all back together and go on. This book has been the most helpful thing I have read, and the suggestions about spiritual connections have helped immensely. Anyone who has lost a child, whether it be an only child or if you have other children, I would suggest this book to.Product details

Losing Your Only eBook Dr Debi Yohn Robert G Allen Reviews
While this book was written by someone who lost their only child to death, it is an appropriate and transformational read for all of us parents who have lost their only . . . . in my case, not my only child, but my only daughter, my only Kelly. Dr. Yohn's book is helpful and filled with compassion and soul, and also addresses the deep shock and grief of the event. She doesn't miss the point that the death of a child can lead to great personal transformation of parents when they choose to live again, and to also to be in service to our child's Gift of Being in some way. I heartily recommend this book to those who have survived a tragedy of this nature, or as a deeply meaningful gift to those who have lost their child.
I just lost my daughter to a just discovered diagnosis of type one diabetes. This was the first book I read and although I skimmed over the part about the funeral because my husband and I created a great party for Emily this book was easy to read and very relatable.
